- Jun.1908 Established as Nopporo Forestry Experiment Station of Ministry of Internal Affairs at Nopporo-Shibunbetsu, Ebetsu Village
- Sep.1927 Moved to a new Building at Nishi-Nopporo,Ebetsu town
- Jan.1933 Renamed the Hokkaido Forest Experiment Station
- Jan.1940 Established as Hokkaido Forest Experiment of Imperial Forestry Bureau at Toyohira, Sapporo City
- May.1947 Integrated with two stations and Sapporo Branch of the Government Forest Experiment Station
- Oct.1953 Renamed as Hokkaido Branch of the Government Forest Experiment Station
- Oct.1974 Moved to Hitsujigaoka, Sapporo City
- Oct.1988 Reorganized as Hokkaido Research Center of Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute (FFPRI)
- Apr.2001 Established as the Hokkaido Research Center, an incorporated administrative agency, as part of administrative reform
- Apr.2015 Started as the National Research and Development Agency
- Apr.2017 Renamed the Hokkaido Research Center, Forestry and Forest Products Research Institute of the Forest Research and Management Organization
