1) All the records of the sable and the Japanese marten obtained by the Network since 2000 are shown.

Results and Discussion
1) The distribution ranges of the two species are separated by the Ishikari Lowland.
2) The sable is native to Hokkaido and was ranged all over the island before the introduction of the Japanese marten.
3) It is likely that the marten expelled the sable in expanding its range in the southwestern part of Hokkaido.
4) The marten might be able to cross the lowland in the south and expand its range to the east in the future.
