Amphibian Reptiles

   Amphibian in the Tama Forest Science Garden Japanese fire-bellied newts(Cynops pyrrhogaster), Eastern-Japanese common toads(Bufo japonicus formosus), Montane brown frogs(Rana ornativetris), Wrinkled frogs(Rana rugosa), Forest green frogs(Rhacophorus arboreus), Schlegel's green tree frogs(Rhacophorus shlegelii). In a pond behind the museum building, frogspawns are observed in February(Montane brown frog), from March to April(Eastern-Japanese common toad) and in May(Forest green tree frog.)  Reptiles in the Tama Forest ScienceGarden Japanese geckos(Gekko japonicus), Japanese five-lined skinks(Eumeces latiscutatus), Japanese grass lizards(Takydromus tachydromoides), Japanese odd-scaled snaked(Achalinus spinalis), Japanese four-lined snakes(Elaphe quadrivirgata), Burrowing ratsnakes(Elaphe conspicillata), Japanese satsnakes(Elaphe climacophora), Oriental odd-tooth snakes(Dinodon orientale), Japanese keelbacks(Amphiesma vibakari vibakari), Tiger keelbacks(Rhabdofhis tigrinus), Japanese mamushis(Gloydus blomhoffi).
