Japanese emperor butterfly

Adult butterflies visit tree sap,and they appear once a year between July and August.Moreover, you can find overwintering larvae under the fallen leaves around Celtis sinensis trees. You may also find the larvae of Hestina japonica and an alien species Hestina assimilis.
