Commentary |
A deciduous shrub that grows in clumps in slightly damp mountain areas. In early spring, a few pale yellow flowers bloom together before the leaves develop. Dioecious. The inflorescence is patterned. The female flowers have a pseudostamen without anthers. The fruit is about 1.5 cm long with one seed inside. The tree contains a lot of oil in the seeds and bark. |
