Commentary |
An exotic species native to North America. It has now spread around the world. It is common in Japan as well. An annual or biennial plant. The flowerhead, about 2 cm in diameter, has slender white ray flowers around the periphery and numerous yellow tubular flowers in the center. When in fruit, the pappi of the fruit of the lingual flower are shorter than those of the tubular flower. |
