Commentary |
A winter annual plant native to China. Plants cultivated in gardens have spread, and it is often found in well-lit parts, or at edges, of forests. The leaves have fine slits and are soft. The tip of the stem is a spike, from which several light-purple flowers bloom. The uppermost part of the calyx is in the shape of a spur, behind the flower. |
