Commentary |
A perennial forest plant. The name comes from there usually being two spikes; but, in well-lit areas, there may be numerous spikes. The flowers are simple, with only a pistil and stamens, and the white parts are filaments. After summer, thin ears with closed flowers appear from knots at the bottom of the stem. |
