Commentary |
A creeping shrub that grows in the mountains. The leaves are tripinnate. The flowers hang downward from the end of a long peduncle. It has four red-purple sepals that appear to be petals, but are not. The sepals are fringed with white hairs. Once the flower has developed, the style grows feathery. The Japanese name derives from the half-bell shape of the flower. |
