Commentary |
A deciduous shrub with creeper characteristics. The leaves are tripinnate. The flowers are small, fragrant, and in panicles on the tips of the current year's branches. The flowers are white: both petal and sepal. The fruit is a capsule with a flattened bell-shape. It ripens to brown in autumn. The Japanese name derives from its tripinnate leaves and hollow branches. |
