Commentary |
This plant produces leaves in the fall and long sporophylls in the winter. The short petiole (basidiophores) is shared by the strobili and sporophyll. The leaf blades of the strobilus are deeply divided into three feathery blades and are nearly pentagonal. The tips of the row pieces are pointed. The leaf edges sharply serrated or wavily serrated. The sporophylls remain even after the spores are released. |
