Commentary |
A biennial plant that grows in well-lit areas. The rosette-shaped radical leaves can be seen in winter. The flower head has no spines and consists only of tubular flowers. Although not a thistle, it is similar in appearance to one. The pappus of the fruit being feathery is also thistle-like. |
