Commentary |
A perennial plant that grows in sunny meadows and grassy areas. The name comes from the fact that it produces a row of small flowers on a long, slender flower stalk that twist in a spiral. The twisting is not consistent: some are right-handed some left-handed, and a few hardly twist at all. |
