Commentary |
An evergreen perennial forest plant. It is said to have been brought from China in ancient times. Since it is a triploid plant, it is unable to produce seeds. One flower blooms for only one day. Thick subterranean stems stretch out and spread in all directions, so they ca be planted on slopes to retain soil. |
