A perennial plant in well-lit meadows. They are common in the Kanto region, and can be spotted in the Cherry Tree Preservation Forest in the Science Garden. The radical leaves that emerge in the spring are gradually replaced by stem leaves. The leaves have long, thick spines. The flowerhead is large and lateral, with long warped involucre scales. The fruit has numerous feathery pappi and is borne on the wind. |
