Grows about 1 m high. The leaves are large and resemble those of the Japanese ginger plant, but they cluster around the midway point of the stem. The white flowers grow in a ring at the end of the flower stalk and arranged in several stages, with hermaphroditic and male flowers mixed in. The fruit is green when ripe. |
