Scientific name |
Isodon inflexus (Tunb.) Kudo |
Best season |
September, October |
Commentary |
The leaves are opposite, with wings on the petiole. Small blue-purple flowers are sparsely produced on the tips of branches in long, slender inflorescences. The flowers are lip-shaped, with an uplifted upper lip with four lobes and a navicular lower lip that protrudes forward. The Japanese name includes the ''mint,'' but it has little or no fragrance. |
