Commentary |
Some of the large specimens grow to be 70 cm long. In addition to the branched inflorescenses at the top of the stem, small inflorescenses may be produced in the leaf axils. The shape of the flower is peculiar and complex. The tepals hang in a curve, with the pistil and stamens protruding. Above the tepals are gaps through which the anthers and stigma hang down. In addition, there is a round sour at the tepals, in which the nectar is produced. |
